How to Hide Posts from Blogger Homepage

The purpose of the blog is to make your blog posts visible to your target audience and search engines. However, there are times when you need to hide some blog posts from the main page. For example, a post may be out of date, so you don't want your audience to see it, but you want to post it on your site for publishing purposes. Or you want a certain post to keep appearing on your blog, but you don't want it to appear on the front page .

Hide the blogger's post from the home page
Either way, you need to find ways to hide certain blog posts. Fortunately, if you use Blogger, you can easily do this with a few simple steps. You can use this guide to get started.

Update the blogger's posts

Let's discuss this method first because it's simple and doesn't require any grammar code. Basically, all you have to do is change the publication date of the post you want to hide; In particular, you should go back to the previous day as often as possible. This will be effective if your blogger website is designed to display the most recent posts first (as most blogs do). After the post is reposted, it will not appear on the main page.

How do you do this? If you are publishing a new post and want to hide it, find the Schedule option to the right of the post editor and click Set date and time. Select an earlier date on the calendar, click Done and save the post, then return to your blog home page to check if the post is missing.

The same process works if you want to hide an old post; The only difference is when you click on the post title in the toolbar to open it in the editor. Update and save the post by following the steps above and open your blog to make sure the post is hidden.

Note that this process only hides your front page posts. People who have spent time looking at your blog posts over the years can still see them. The same goes for people who come across your blog post hidden from search engines.

Hide Blogger blog posts with code

Another thing you can do to hide a blog post is to edit the code. It is a bit complicated because a small mistake affects the structure of the envelope and makes it unreadable. This, in turn, can harm your readers while browsing your website and negatively affect your search engine optimization practices. With this in mind, it is important to be careful when working with code.

Method 1 ፡ Hide the blogger post behind the post sticker

There are two ways to choose, one of them is to name the blog post you want to hide. If you are ready to continue with this process, you must first back up your model. If something goes wrong, it's important to make sure you have a backup.

After saving the template, go to Templates, click Edit HTML and click anywhere in the Code area -> hit CTRL + F and get this rule.
Once you find it, change it to this code:

Note. Edit the " Add Label " text in the blog post tag you want to hide on the Blogger home page. Note that if you have multiple accounts on this post, the code above will not work, so make sure you only have one account on the post.

Important! Each post you want to appear on the front page must have at least one tag, otherwise it won't be displayed as the b: loop policy doesn't apply to them.

Finally, click the Save Format button on the left of the editor to save your changes, then make sure your blog is hidden.

Method 2 ፡ Hide Blogger Post by Post ID

In addition to the previous method, you can use another method that includes the ID of the blog post you want to hide. To find out the identification number, go to the toolbar area, find the title of the message you want to hide and click "Edit text" below. The post will then open in the Blogger editor.

In the editor, click on the address bar at the top and go to the end of the URL. Here you will see a text string like in the next post == followed by a long string of numbers. This is your postal identification number. The identification number usually consists of 19 digits and somehow looks like this.

Once you have the blog post ID, open the Blogger management screen, go to the Form section and click Edit HTML. Find this rule:
Replaced with:
Note. If you have two options, replace both.

Find this account now

Once you find it, put the following code on it.

" 1234567890123456789 " Don't forget to substitute the 19-digit ID of the blog post you want to hide. Make sure you save the template when done. You can open your blog in another tab or browser to see if the entry is hidden.

It!

Regardless of whether you link to your post or not, remember that the hidden blog post is still on your site by choosing the post identification method. This means that it is still identified by search engines, appears in search results, and finds people searching for the keywords that appear in the post. If you really want no one to see this blog, you need to use the robots.txt file (for Google) to remove it from search results. Ideally, delete the post entirely from the Blogger control screen and save an electronic copy to your computer.
