Upload images and get the URL of the image

Since there are so many new users joining the blogging world every day, is it good to know a few basic topics that will raise recurring questions like how can we get image URLs ?

There are many free and paid web hosting services on the web where images can be expected, but since we use Blogger, there is nothing better than using the same image hosting service. hosting provided by Google, Picasa .

How to upload an image to Blogger and get the image URL

The fastest way to upload images is to use the Blogger Post Editor: From the Blogger control screen, navigate to your blog and click the New Post button . Once the email editor is open, go to the HTML tab and click on the image icon.


When the pop-up appears, click the Select Files button, browse for your image, double-click it, or click Open and click Add Selected .

Once the image is uploaded, you will see the HTML of the image in the email editor as shown in the screenshot below.


The code contains the URL of your photo. The two URLs (URLs) you will see will look like this:

The first is the URL of the image you need to copy. No need to post this message where you uploaded the photo; You can just leave it and compile it or delete it. The image will still be saved to PicasaWeb (if you don't delete the draft, select the delete image option as well).

How to Upload Photos to Picasa and Get Image URL

Now that you know how to import images through Blogger, you can also import images directly from Picasa:

Simply go to PicasaWeb , select the album you want to save the image to, and click Add Photo .


Select an image from a location on your computer and upload it.


After downloading, click OK . You will now see a thumbnail, along with other photos if there are more.

To get the URL of a Picasa image, click on the image to open it in full size, then right-click on the image and select the following options, depending on the browser you are using:

For Google Chrome > select Copy Image URL :


If you are using Mozilla Firefox > select Copy image location :


For Opera > select Copy Image URL :


For Safari > select Copy image address :


If you are using Internet Explorer (hope not) > select Properties first, a window will open and there you will find the Addresses section where you can select the URL of the image. Just copy:


Once you select one of these options, the image URL will be copied to the snippet memory. It's very easy !

Please note that all images you upload to Blogger are stored in your Picasa account. So if you find an image that has already been uploaded to your blog, simply go to your Picasa account, select the album that contains your blog name, and find the image you need.
